Kirk Thomas Metty was born at St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri on Thanksgiving day 1961. He spent his earliest years in Ketchikan, Alaska where his father was serving in the U. S. Coast Guard. From there, the family moved to Port Arthur, Texas; then Mobile, Alabama, New Orleans, Louisiana, Governor's Island, New York, and finally Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Kirk graduated from Moore, Oklahoma High School in the spring of 1979 and enrolled at Oklahoma State University at Stillwater, Oklahoma that fall. He graduated from OSU in 1983 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, he spent one year in Haiti working as a volunteer in the mission field. Upon his return from Haiti he married Kellee Anne Brackett on 20 July 1985 at Elkridge, MD. Following his marriage, he went to work for Texas Instruments in Plano, Texas and remained with them until late 1990. Ethel Louise Leonard nee Metty

Ethel Louise Leonard, longtime resident of West Seattle, passed away on August 4, 2008 at Providence Mt. St. Vincent, surrounded by her loving family. Ethel was aged 107. She was born March 24, 1901 in Cumberland, Maryland. She leaves behind two daughters, Shirley Johnson of West Seattle and Dorothy Reinhardt of Hawaii. Two children, Charles Leonard and June Leo, preceded her in death. She has eight grandchildren, Floyd, Kimberle, Linda, Wayne, Nancy, Cheryl, Bonnie and Larry, and ten great-grandchildren, Travis, Jennifer, Charlie, Kenneth, McKenzie, Brandon, Kelli, Chad, Kyle and Larry. There will be a Memorial service at the Mt. St. Vincent chapel, 4831 35th Avenue SW, on Saturday, August 16 at 1PM, with a reception following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross or Swedish Hospice. Author's note: Ethel was the daughter of James Louis Metty and his wife Elizabeth Hollar.

Cyd Marie Metty daughter of Cleo Francis and Patricia Clara Metty was born in the "Last Frontier" state of Alaska. Her birth occurred on 1 November 1963 in Ketchikan, Alaska. As a youngster, she spent time in Texas, Louisiana, New York and Oklahoma. She graduated from Moore High School, Moore, Oklahoma in 1981 and then continued her education at Southeastern Oklahoma State College in Durant, Oklahoma. She graduated in December of 1984 with a degree in accounting. On 5 January 1985 she was united in wedlock with Jimmy Ray Nunley Jr. at St Andrew's Catholic Church in Moore, Oklahoma. Following their marriage, Cyd and Jim traveled to England where they made their home as Jim continued his service in the U. S. Air Force. Later they lived at Andrew's Air Force Base, Washington, D.C. and in Wichita Falls, Texas, until Jim's discharge from the service. Today the couple resides in Haslet, Texas. They have one daughter, Chelsea Marie who is a sophomore at Tarleton College ...
