Topeka State Journal, April 19, 1923, pg 3 col 5 Death of Margaret Metty Had Been a Resident of Topeka for Twenty-one Years Mrs. Margaret J. Metty, 70, a resident of Topeka for twenty-one years, died this morning at her residence, 2025 Van Buren street. She is survived by seven children: George A. Metty, Los Angeles, Calif.; Calarence P. Metty, Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Julia S. Purinton, Wichita, Kan.; Mrs. Adeline R. Greenfiled, Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Pearl M. Richmond, William L. Metty and Miss Gertrude A. Metty, all of Topeka. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 8 o'clock at the Holy Name church. Burial in Mount Calvary cemetery.

This picture was recently received from our cousin Debra Metty Beveridge in Connecticut. Seated in the center of the picture is Nellie Metty Hoban, born November 30, 1906 in Cumberland, Maryland. She is the daughter of James Louis Metty and his wife Elizabeth Hollar. She is the granddaughter of Gilbert Metty and great granddaughter of Leander Metty. Pictured with her from left to right is granddaughter Kathy Lucas, daughter Mary Pinto and son Joe Hoban. Nellie is Debra's great aunt. Thanks for sharing this with us Debra.

Hubert was born at Detroit on 29 November 1806. On 12 January 1830 he and Julia Angelica Lacelle were united in marriage at St Antoine, River Raisin. She had been born there on 15 October 1811, the daughter of Francis Lacelle and Clara Cosme.
