A Third Marriage for Alexis

Alexis married for the third and final time on 18 November 1850 at Monroe, Michigan. The bride this time was Mary Emily Percy born circa 1831. She and Alexis were to have seven children: Mary Elisabeth born 1 April 1853 Catherine born circa 1857 Daniel born 7 January 1858 Frenchtown Township Thomas born circa 1861 Charles born 5 August 1862 Sandy Creek Mary Madeleine born 24 September 1865 Frenchtown Township Rosalie born circa October 1872 Alexis would outlive this wife as well. She died 21 October 1892. He would die sixteen months later.

Alexis Marries again

On 20 January 1841, Alexis married Victorie Menard at Monroe. She was born 20 October 1820 at St Antoine, River Raison, the daughter of Joseph Menard and Victorie Magdalene Boudreau. During the ensuing eight years she gave birth to three sons and a daughter. Alexander was born 2 December 1843; Moses 17 April 1845; James 29 March 1847; and Mary Clara 15 September 1848/49. The three sons were born at Monroe, Michigan and the daughter was born at Riviere Aux Sables, Michgan. Victorie is believed to have died in the latter half of 1849 after having been ill with consumption for some eight months.

Alexis Metty son of Felix & Catherine

Alexis was born on 26 April 1809 at Assumption, Sandwich. He married on 22 November 1830 to Mary Clara Lacelle at St Antoine, River Raison. Mary was the sister of Julia Angelica spouse of Hubert Metty. To this union was born Three children, namely: Alexis, born 8 September 1831 Clara, 17 December 1833 Catherine, 20 October 1838 All the children were born at St Antoine's on the River Raison. This union ended tragically for Alexis and his children according to an entry in the History of St Joseph County: "The first death of a white person in the township was in 1835, the person being the wife of Alexander C. Metha and daughter of Colonel Lasell of Monroe, she being accidentally shot by her husband." However, in another publication entitled The French Settlements in St Joseph County it is written: "The first death, among the white people, was that of Mrs. Alexander Metty, the daughter of Colonel La Selle of Monroe.
