FIFTY YEARS LATER


Metty-Handy Nuptials Saturday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church
Before the altar decorated with yellow and bronze varigated Chrysanthem, Miss Donna Jean Metty became the bride oF A/2C James William Handy. The 2 o’clock ceremony Saturday was performed by Rev. F. I Sattlemeier at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs Gordon Metty, Route, Three Rivers and Mr. and Mrs. William Handy, of 720 Portage Ave.
The bridal gown was fashioned of chantilly lace over tulle and her veil was of illusion with a rhinestone tiara, her only jewelry was a single strand of pearls, a gift from the bridegroom. She carried white roses on a white Bible.
Attending the bride was Miss Darlene Bohm as maid of honor. She was gowned in blue net and carried white carnations. Donald King served as best man, and ushers were Dick Metty and Kenneth Handy.
The Lords Prayer and Oh perfect love were sung by Mrs Paul Evans
A reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jackino, aunt and uncle of the bride. Assisting were Mrs Milford Fosdick who cut the cake and Mrs James Walker, Miss Marion Fornaresio and Betty Snow. Presiding at the guest hook was Miss Karen Tedrow and at the gift table was Mrs. Sam Smith.
For her daughters wedding, Mrs. Metty wore an ensemble of charcoal wool with a corsage of white carnations. Mrs Tandy selected a dress of blue wool jersey with gold accessories.
Guests attended from Centerville. Kalamazoo, Comstock, Parkville, Chicago, and Three
Rivers.
