Schools Days

This picture dates from about 1920 or 1921 a shows two young lads setting off for school. J.R. on the left is my father Arthur J. Metty Jr, and on the right is his brother Clair Thomas Metty. They would have been about 9 and 7 years of age. They lived approximately two miles from the country school and this was their usual mode of transportation. It was either this or walk. Must have been a little cool on mornings similar to the one pictured here. Would like to see or learn how your parents and grandparents traveled to school.
