Pearl Bernice (Steen) Metty-Milhahn, 89, of Plattsmouth, NE. died Tuesday June 29, 2010 at the Golden Living Center in Plattsmouth.
Pearl was born on December 20, 1920 in Ogema Minnesota to William Morris and Luella (Comstock) Steen.

She was raised in St. Joseph County, MI and attended a rural country school.

Pearl married Gordon Eugene Metty on July 8, 1937 in Centerville, MI and became a homemaker, housewife and mother.

She later gained employment as a seamstress in a garment factory making Dr. Denton Pajamas in Centerville, MI and also at a plastic factory.

After Gordon’s death on July 3, 1969 Pearl met Harold L. Milhahn and they were married on February 14, 1970 in Centerville, MI.

Pearl and Harold lived in Three Rivers, MI.

Harold passed away on November 18, 1991.

Pearl moved to Plattsmouth in November of 2002 to be near her daughter Donna and resided at Woodbridge Assisted Living and the Golden Living Center until the time of her death.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna J. Handy and her husband James of Plattsmouth, three sons, Terry L Metty of Conway, TX, Richard Metty of Three Rivers, MI and William Metty and his wife Kathy of Centerville, MI, ten grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pearl is preceded in death by her parents, William and Luella Steen, first husband, Gordon E. Metty, second husband, Harold L. Milhahn, son, Ronald Metty, daughter, Connie Metty , three sisters, Ruth Steen, Laura Morgan and Gertrude Snow, four brothers, Ralph, Edward, Wilbur and Donald Steen.

Funeral services were held on Saturday July 3, 2010 at Roby Funeral Home Chapel with Pstor Lloyd Stuhr officiating.

Vocal music was by Josh and Crystal Olson and Kyle Winter.

Pallbearers were Clifford W. Handy, Gerald D. Handy, James W. Handy Jr., Jimmy Metty, Wyatt Metty and Kyle Winter.

Final resting Place is the Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth, NE.

In lieu of Flowers Memorials can be sent to First Lutheran Church – Health and Healing Ministry.
